I have just had a ‘sister long weekend’ in my most favourite place on the planet – Byron Bay.
Jo and I have really busy lives, and although we live a suburb away from each other, we realised several years ago we needed to take the time to get away and hang out together once a year.
Growing up we spent close to three months a year sharing a tent. Every school holidays until she left home, we would be in a tent camping near Byron Bay or in a national park climbing trees and lighting camp fires.
In our early teens we shared a backpack for six months travelling around India and South East Asia with our parents (don’t worry – we were home schooled during this time!). For my 30th birthday she walked up a mountain with me in Nepal and we have travelled the world together.
So it stands to reason that we take the time to reconnect in our spiritual home – Byron Bay. Why is it my most favourite place on the planet? I don’t think I need words to explain why…
